My Vitamix Story

I was introduced to the Vitamix as a teenager when my parents bought one. I was undergoing major jaw surgery, which required a 6-week healing period post-surgery period with my mouth wired shut.  Since I needed to be on a pureed diet during that time and my mom knew about the wonders of the Vitamix from her healthcare practitioner friends, she and my dad purchased one. We all fell in love immediately! It made my special diet during surgery recovery a breeze, and ensured that I was eating nutritious, wholesome food while my body was try to heal.

After my jaw surgery, we continued to love the Vitamix, especially me. A vegetarian at the time, it was especially useful for me to make healthful pureed bean soups, vegetable purees, smoothies, and tofu pudding!  I loved experimenting with the Vitamix, and it provided a great option for easy after-school snacks during my busy high school schedule. I would even bring my friends home over the lunch hour to make healthy pureed soups!

While in college and once I was living on my own after graduation, I desperately wanted a Vitamix. I was totally frustrated with the inefficiency of standard blenders in comparison my parents' Vitamix. Once I transitioned to a whole foods diet and stopped eating gluten, dairy, eggs, and a variety of other allergens due to severe health issues and allergies, I needed to cook all my own food and found myself in the kitchen constantly.  I knew a Vitamix would make my life easier, and make cooking more fun.

I finally took the plunge in August 2009 and bought a factory reconditioned Vitamix. My culinary life changed forever! My smoothies were better and smoother. I could make hot soup in minutes from fresh vegetables, without ever having to turn on the stovetop. I could grind my own gluten-free flour, make my own pumpkin seed butter, and create my own smooth and creamy cashew milk.  I could create fresh fruit sorbets in seconds.

Now I use it 2-3 times a day (seriously), and all my friends are always amazed what it can do!  The Vitamix is not only an important part of my kitchen, but  an important part of my lifestyle. It makes it easy for me to maintain a gluten-free, allergy-free, whole foods diet, without sacrificing taste or creativity.  This diet has brought me back from the brink of intense digestive pain, acne, and a variety of symptoms caused from Chronic Lyme Disease, and the Vitamix helps make is possible to do it with ease.  Food is our best medicine, and the Vitamix is like having your own pharmacy right at home.

I decided to become a Vitamix associate because I truly believe that this machine can change your life. It allows you to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your diet easily, and gives you the power to make fresh, wholesome food quickly and affordably.  Certainly, it is a financial investment, but well worth it; your health is the best thing you can spend money on. There are payment plans to make it more manageable, and after you make your first homemade batch of nut butter or your first perfectly creamy smoothie, you will appreciate every single cent you are spent!

Be well!
